Apple added Nintendo Joy-Con support starting in iOS 16: pair a single Joy-Con from Settings > Bluetooth, or pair two of them and iOS combines them into one virtual controller. Requires iOS 16 or later; earlier iOS versions don't recognize the Joy-Con at all.
